With five years remaining on its current master facilities plan, West Virginia University has 16 projects that are active, or under consideration, across the system, ranging from a residence hall at WVU Tech in Beckley to better facilities at Jackson’s Mill to remodeling of space in Morgantown, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Rob Alsop said today (Jan. 24).
Several University officials have consulted on the condition of campus roads and grounds as well as conditions in the vicinity. While roads and sidewalks may have been plowed and treated, they will remain icy in spots. Be sure to drive slow, allow extra time and use caution. Students and employees are reminded to use their own good judgment before venturing out.

The WVU Foundation is organizing the University’s inaugural Day of Giving, 24-hour online fundraising effort, as a simple way for University supporters to contribute to the Foundation’s “State of Minds” Campaign.

The West Virginia University system began classes Wednesday with record numbers of first-time freshmen enrollment – 6,224 across its three campuses in Morgantown, Beckley and Keyser. The incoming class also features higher test scores and an increase in international students.

The Dr. Carter Bishop Scholarship will support English undergraduates while the Dr. Carolyn P. The West Virginia University Board of Governors on Thursday (June 29) unanimously approved a $1.07 billion budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, including an average 5 percent tuition increase.
