West Virginia University Thursday (Feb. 18) announced the Starbucks location at The Market @ UPlace will temporarily reduce its operating hours due to staffing limitations following a COVID-19 exposure at the storefront on Thursday, Feb. 18. The adjusted hours of operation for next week are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The storefront will be closed on Saturday, Feb. 20, and Sunday, Feb. 21. Starbucks is expected to resume normal hours of operation beginning Saturday, Feb. 27.

West Virginia University has made several updates to its COVID-19 procedures after reviewing the latest COVID-19 numbers on the Morgantown campus and within Monongalia County.

West Virginia University will move to remote instruction on the Morgantown campus online until 11:30 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 18) due to inclement weather and road conditions. Classes already offered online and those in hybrid form will also continue as planned. Students on clinical rotations should check in with their program directors for additional guidance. The remainder of the University, including dining, buses and COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics, will operate on a normal schedule.

West Virginia University in Morgantown will adjust some of its on-campus operations for Thursday, Feb. 11 due to inclement weather and deteriorating road conditions. Thursday was previously designated as a non-instructional date on the academic calendar. As a result, no classes were scheduled. Health Sciences students on clinical rotations should check in with their program directors for additional guidance.

The spring semester begins on Tuesday, Jan. 19, and West Virginia University is sharing details to help students, faculty and staff stay safe and abide by the University’s guidance to protect the campuses and surrounding communities from the spread of COVID-19. The campus community is invited to join a Return to Campus Conversation on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 10-11:30 a.m. to hear from administrators and public health experts and ask them questions.

West Virginia University President Gordon Gee called for transformation during Friday’s (Dec. 18) Board of Governors meeting, warning that across the country there is a loss of public trust and the perceived value of higher education has diminished.

To help students, faculty and staff prepare for a safe return to campus in January, West Virginia University is providing details on parking, transportation and more for the spring semester, which begins on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

The Hugh Baby's location at Evansdale Crossing temporarily closed Tuesday (Nov. 17) after West Virginia University was notified of a COVID-19 exposure at the storefront. WVU immediately implemented its safety protocols, initiating a deep cleaning of the space.
