The West Virginia University Board of Governors, after two days of meetings, approved on Friday (June 23) a balanced budget for the coming fiscal year aimed at streamlining and strengthening the WVU System for the future.
In an effort to elevate early childhood education and expand opportunities for aspiring teachers, the West Virginia University Nursery School is now fully part of the College of Applied Human Sciences with Ashley Martucci, a longtime educator, appointed to serve as the school’s director.
“The state of West Virginia University is strong,” President Gordon Gee said during his spring State of the University address on Monday (March 27). “And we will be even stronger in the decades to come, thanks to a concerted focus on what matters most.”
West Virginia University supporters on Day of Giving, set for Wednesday (March 22), will have many opportunities to amplify the reach of their gifts through a variety of challenges scheduled for the day.
During the event, West Virginia University will invite alumni, friends and students to collectively make a difference and support the University’s land-grant mission.
“Service is not only one of our WVU Values, it reflects our commitment to the people of West Virginia as an R1, land-grant institution,” West Virginia University President Gordon Gee told Board of Governors members during their regular meeting Friday, Feb. 17.
West Virginia University’s Board of Governors gathered Friday (Dec. 16) kicking off a Commencement weekend of events on the Morgantown campus.
The transportable lactation suite is currently located at the Coliseum’s Mountaineer Gate and will be moved to Milan Puskar Stadium’s North Entrance each football season. WVU employees may use the pod all year.
