WVU to celebrate Mountaineer Nation Day Oct. 21 

West Virginia University fans from around the world will celebrate the sixth-annual Mountaineer Nation Day Oct. 21. Mountaineer Nation Day is a 24-hour period dedicated to fans and their pride and passion for WVU. This year’s celebration will take place on the day the football team takes on Baylor, televised at 8 p.m. on Fox Sports 2.

Tent City returns for WVU Homecoming

The fourth annual Tent City is making a comeback this week in celebration of West Virginia University Homecoming and the Mountaineer’s first 2017 Big 12 Conference football season home game. WVU students will begin erecting tents Tuesday (Oct. 10) at 8 a.m. on the Mountainlair Plaza and will camp until noon on Friday (Oct. 13) in anticipation of the 2017 Homecoming football weekend.

WVU Nursing Dean Tara Hulsey to also coordinate health promotion and wellness programs

Recognizing the importance of overall health and wellness to academic, professional and personal success, West Virginia University is creating a system-wide initiative to coordinate and improve efforts in those areas. Supported by a substantial gift from Natalie and Wes Bush, the Bush Fund for Health Promotion and Wellness will be directed by Dean of Nursing Tara Hulsey, who will also continue in her current role while adding responsibilities as vice president of health sciences for health promotion and wellness.

WVU Student Life announces 2017 Hall of Fame & Outstanding Achievement Award inductees

A program-building coach who has won 819 basketball games, a retired liaison for Black Student Concerns who took special interest in African and African American students, faculty and staff, a former Arts & Entertainment student program advisor who trained hundreds of student staff to run “front of house” activities and a man who guided the Daily Athenaeum through a period of exceptional growth will be honored by the West Virginia University Division of Student Life.
