West Virginia University’s main campus in Morgantown will operate on a normal schedule today (Jan. 17).

Several University officials have consulted on the condition of campus roads and grounds as well as conditions in the vicinity. While roads and sidewalks may have been plowed and treated, they will remain icy in spots. Be sure to drive slow, allow extra time and use caution.

Students and employees are reminded to use their own good judgment before venturing out.

When weather conditions prevent employees from getting to work or getting to work on time, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible.

If instructors need to cancel classes, they should make every effort to notify students in advance. If students cannot get to class because of adverse weather conditions, they should contact their instructors as soon as possible.

Dress appropriately when outdoors with warm layers and cover exposed skin. Wear footwear appropriate for snow and ice.

WVU Tech will be closed today beginning at 6 a.m. Essential employees are to report. The campus in Beckley is scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 18), with classes resuming as normal.

Potomac State College in Keyser will operate on a normal schedule today.
