The campaign for West Virginia University Student Government Association leadership ended Wednesday evening (March 11) as the SGA Judicial Court announced Chase Riggs and Jaron Bragg as president and vice president, respectively, for the 2020-21 academic year.

Morgantown Police have arrested two suspects, 29-year-old Edward Kolleh and 20-year-old Ethan Horseman. One person was injured in an off-campus shooting incident Saturday, Feb. 29. The victim’s condition is unavailable at this time. The Morgantown Police Department is the lead investigating agency, and University Police is assisting. WVU will continue to provide updates as it receives new information from Morgantown Police.
Graduation rates at West Virginia University continue to increase for every cohort of students, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Maryanne Reed reported to the Board of Governors Friday (Feb. 28).
The victim was identified as Eric James Smith, 21, a sophomore majoring in multidisciplinary studies from Clementon N.J. Smith was a former resident of the College Park where the shooting occurred. Two suspects were arrested shortly after the shooting and are expected to be arraigned Friday afternoon. The suspects are Terrell Linear, 21, and Shaundarius T. Reeder 20. Both are charged with first-degree murder. Both are from Fairmont and neither is a WVU student. Both were arraigned Friday in Monongalia County Magistrate Court.
