WVU Foundation wins top digital award from Acquia

The West Virginia University Foundation’s efforts to overhaul its online donation web pages have earned it a top national honor. Boston-based Acquia, a leading cloud platform for building, delivering and optimizing digital experiences, named the WVU Foundation one of its 2017 Engage Award recipients. The web page redesign project, led by Foundation Senior Application Developer AJ Blosser, focused onimproving the search and transactional experience for the donor.

PRT schedule change planned Nov. 13-17 for modernization testing

The West Virginia University Personal Rapid Transit system will be closed to passenger service starting at 8 p.m. next week (Nov. 13-17) to accommodate phase II modernization testing. The University will provide bus support during the suspended PRT hours. Buses will operate on a continuous loop from 8 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. to all PRT locations except for Walnut Street.

$83.7 billion energy investment boosts state, WVU on world stage

West Virginia’s presence on the world energy stage jumped significantly Thursday (Nov. 9) as China Energy Investment Corp. Ltd., one of the world’s largest energy companies and a long-time research and development partner of West Virginia University, announced an agreement that will bring $83.7 billion to the state.

As recent national statistics for obesity and diabetes revealed West Virginia’s ranking as number one in both, a team of interdisciplinary healthcare providers at West Virginia University is creating a new Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Health with the bold goal of preventing and reversing these conditions with not more medication, but less.
