The largest private fundraising campaign in West Virginia University history saw more than 90,000 donors contribute just over $1.2 billion to the University.

In a country where higher education is being devalued, even as the cost of an education skyrockets, West Virginia University remains committed to its purpose of transforming lives in the state and the world, President Gordon Gee said today (Feb. 27).

With new safety regulations and procedures in place for farmers and agribusiness owners, West Virginia University Extension Service is helping local growers navigate these changes while providing education and training to ensure consumer safety.

The Department of History has partnered with Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland to launch a new transatlantic Master of Arts in international history and security studies for fall 2018.

The Harrison County native and longtime Marion County resident, who has enjoyed a very successful career in the mining, gas and oil business, is now giving back to WVU with a transformational leadership donation through his trust.

As part of Women's History Month, West Virginia University Libraries will showcase the work of Peabody Award-winning documentarian Elaine McMillion Sheldon and three other West Virginia-based photographers.

Shan Jiang, assistant professor of landscape architecture in the School of Design and Community Development, and her research team will utilize immersive virtual reality technologies to conduct a study focused primarily on hospital wayfinding.

The rifle team shot 2366 air rifle at the 2018 Great America Rifle Conference Championships, pushing its aggregate total to 4699 and giving the Mountaineers their ninth straight championship title. WVU's (13-0, 9-0) title is its conference-best 13th. The 2018 GARC regular-season champions as well, the Mountaineers have swept the GARC team titles nine times since 1998.

West Virginia University senior and member of the Honors College Trevor Kiess was announced as the next Mountaineer Mascot at tonight’s (Feb. 24) men’s basketball game vs Iowa State.

A worldwide audience can view a West Virginia University researcher's work on Appalachia's African American history on his virtual exhibit "Soldiers of the Coalfields: The Hidden Stories of Black Appalachians in WWI," one of 100 stories highlighted by the Google Cultural Institute in celebration of Black History Month.
