West Virginia University released the following statement Tuesday (July 21):

“West Virginia University appreciates Gov. Justice's leadership as we continue to battle COVID-19. His concern for the health and safety of our faculty, staff and students, as well as our communities, reminds us that there is much at stake as we move forward in this pandemic. WVU, along with the other West Virginia colleges and universities, will work alongside the Governor's office and the West Virginia National Guard to protect our academic and state communities. And at the Governor's urging, we will continue to carefully monitor the course of the virus and take appropriate actions as we deem necessary. And in moments like these – when our state and its leaders come together as one for the benefit of all – we are reminded that this State and the people of West Virginia are truly special.”
