Statewide K-12 educators to attend STEAMPOSIUM conference

WHAT: Nearly 200 K-12 educators from across West Virginia will expand their skills in hands-on STEAM learning at the second STEAMPOSIUM conference.

The one-day conference will offer small, personalized grade-level workshops, standards-based lessons focused on enhancing students’ critical thinking and problem solving, and the opportunity to network among fellow educators and STEAM specialists.

The STEAMPOSIUM is hosted by the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative, the West Virginia Department of Education, the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) Technical Assistance Center at West Virginia University, and the June Harless Center at Marshall University.

WHERE: Stonewall Resort, Roanoke, West Virginia

  ·      Tarabeth Heineman, executive director, June Harless Center for Rural Educational Research and Development at Marshall University

  ·      Ryan Rydzewski, award-winning author and speaker

  ·      Jennifer Schwertfeger, program manager, STEAM TAC
