WVU president to visit State Fair of West Virginia for first time

WHAT: West Virginia University President Michael T. Benson will join celebrations marking the 100th State Fair of West Virginia during the annual event’s West Virginia Day.

WHO: President Benson; Dr. Clay Marsh, chancellor and executive dean, WVU Health Sciences; Jorge Atiles, associate vice president and dean, WVU Division for Land-Grant Engagement; Cade Kincaid, 71st Mountaineer mascot; WVU Extension representatives and other members of the University community

WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 14, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE: State Fair of West Virginia Fairgrounds, Fairlea

NOTES: President Benson will participate in State Fair activities at the WVU Building, view the WVU Extension 4-H exhibits in the Cecil H. Underwood Youth Center and attend the annual West Virginia Farm Bureau luncheon.

The State Fair visit is part of President Benson’s ongoing “Welcome Home Tour” which will eventually take him to all 55 West Virginia counties.
