WVU Extension hosts ‘ultimate’ youth adventure camp, Mountaineer mascots to share experiences, participate in safety training

West Virginia University Extension Ultimate Outdoor Adventure Camp, a three-day outdoor adventure camp for state youths ages 12-18 that includes kayaking, survival skills, hiking, shooting sports, ATV training, fly fishing and much more will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1, at WVU Jackson’s Mill. Mountaineer Mascot Mary Roush, alternate Gunnar Webb and former Mountaineer Mascot Colson Glover will attend.

WVU Statler College to host Mechanical and Aerospace Student Design Showcase

WVU students will present several show-and-tell demonstrations from competition teams including: the WVU Formula SAE racecar competition team, the WVU Experimental Rocketry team, the WVU EcoCAR Mobility Challenge team, the WVU University Rover Challenge team, the WVU AIAA Design, Build, Fly team, and Spacecraft Design student participating in the NASA RASC-AL competition. The event will be held April 26-28 in the Engineering Sciences Building.

Fourth annual Focus Forward symposium emphasizes West Virginia strengths, stories of opportunity to stay competitive, resilient

The fourth Focus Forward symposium, hosted by the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative and the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, will be held Wednesday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  in the Platinum Ballroom, Salons A-E, Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place, 2 Waterfront Place, Morgantown. Keynote speakers include Brian Anderson, Executive Director of the Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization, and Gayle Manchin, Co-Chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission.

Bridging Innovation Week to host competitions in Charleston

Bridging Innovation Week, hosted by the West Virginia University John Chambers College of Business and Economics and Marshall University Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation, will take place at the Charleston Civic Center this week with open events Tuesday and Wednesday.
