WVU opens Veteran and Military Family Support Headquarters

A new Veteran and Military Family Support Headquarters underscores West Virginia University’s commitment to those who have served our country. WVU President Gordon Gee and the WVU Center for Veteran, Military and Family Programs hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new center Friday, Dec. 7 at the Mountainlair.

Mountaineers, Orange to meet in Orlando for Camping World Bowl

The No. 16 West Virginia Mountaineers and the 20th-ranked Syracuse Orange will play in the 2018 Camping World Bowl. The game will kick off at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28 at Camping World Stadium and will be televised nationally by ESPN. PrimeSport, in partnership with the WVU Alumni Association, Mountaineer Athletic Club and WVU Athletic Department are offering a Mountaineer Travel Package.

Second annual Day of Giving brings in more than $6 million for WVU

Supporters of West Virginia University donated more than $6 million Wednesday (Nov. 14) during the University’s second annual Day of Giving, more than doubling last year’s total. It was promoted as “One Day to Give Back” and donors responded making 3,001 gifts during the 24-hour online giving event totaling over $6.2 million.

WVU graduate is finalist for two prestigious Awards

For Morgan King, the first weekend in November this year will be one to remember. She will fly back to the United States from Spain where she is on a Fulbright Scholarship to interview with the British Marshall scholarship committee in Washington, D.C., and then travel to New York to interview with the Schwarzman Scholarship committee.

WVU team selected to compete in EcoCAR Mobility Challenge

Seeking to build off its second-place finish in the final year of the EcoCAR 3 competition, the team from West Virginia University was one of 12 to be selected for the EcoCAR Mobility Challenge, which will feature the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer as the vehicle platform.
