Five awarded WVU Foundation Scholarships

With the Class of 2017 only recently making its departure from West Virginia University, a new freshman class began forming Tuesday (May 16) with the announcement of the next group of five WVU Foundation Scholars, the highest academic scholarship the University awards.

Three members of the West Virginia University class of 2017 will take on teaching and research opportunities starting this fall as recipients of the 2017 Fulbright Scholarship. WVU student selected to present liver disease research on Capitol Hill

One West Virginia University student’s research on sugary sodas and liver disease will take her to Capitol Hill this week to meet with congressional representatives and advocate for undergraduate research. Sundus Lateef of Bridgeport is one of 60 students selected nationally by the Council on Undergraduate Research to showcase her work to members of Congress and their staff at the annual Posters on the Hill session on April 25-26.

WVU engineering students take top honors in Target Case Study Competition

Teams featuring seven engineering students from West Virginia University captured the top three places in the Third Annual Target Case Study Competition. Sponsored by the Target Corporation and hosted by WVU’s Career Services Center, the competition challenges teams of students in all majors to use their problem-solving skills to provide well-rounded solutions to a business problem.
