Bucklew Scholars vie for WVU Foundation Scholarships

This year’s cohort of Bucklew Scholars comes to West Virginia University with a few common goals, most notably an education that will allow them to search for solutions to what they see as the world problems their generation will be faced with overcoming.

Launchlab Idea Challenge celebrates new student ventures; first place goes to Pantry Plus More

The West Virginia University LaunchLab’s inaugural March Idea Challenge ended on a high note last week, when Political Science major Roark Sizemore and Economics major Courtney Pyatt were awarded first place. The two, both juniors and Honors College students, won for their pitch for Pantry Plus More, a start-up nonprofit company that provides food and personal hygiene items to K-12 students in Monongalia County public schools.

Students Savannah Lusk and Morgan King were instrumental in the effort to honor Johnson, the first woman to desegregate WVU's graduate school.

WVU engineering student wins Entrepreneur Pitch Contest

First-year engineering student William Keefe from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, won first place in the Entrepreneur Pitch Contest hosted by West Virginia University’s LaunchLab, which will provide Keefe with a $1,500 award to use toward the development of his idea.

WVU professor emeritus, loyal supporter passes away

A West Virginia University professor emeritus who tirelessly supported the University, its programs and students has passed away at the age of 84. Dr. Joginder Nath, professor emeritus and longtime chair of the genetics and developmental biology program in the WVU Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, died Sunday (Dec. 11) night after a long illness.
