Football Hall of Fame set for Saturday

West Virginia University will hold its 28th annual Sports Hall of Fame induction on Saturday (Sept. 22) prior to the WVU-Kansas State football game. Induction ceremonies will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility. The public is invited to attend and the event is free of charge.

It could be argued West Virginians in rural communities need more prevalent access to healthcare and medical professionals — winding mountain roads and rivers can make it difficult for many to make appointments and maintain an active relationship with primary-care providers. Many small communities may not have a physician to provide routine guidance on simple, but serious, chronic ailments.

WVU 2018 United Way campaign kicks off today

West Virginia University Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Meshea Poore will serve as the chair of the 36th annual United Way campaign, which begins today (Sept. 17). The 12-week campaign wraps up Dec. 14.

Campus Read presents art exhibit in Stewart Hall

An exhibition of art related to the 2018-2019 Campus Read, Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel will be housed in Stewart Hall on the downtown campus for the remainder of the academic year. Titled “Connection After Collapse: A Visual Response to Station Eleven” and curated by Robert Bridges, the exhibit draws upon ideas of survival, civilization, comics and humanities.
