Donors gave more than $11 million Wednesday (Nov. 13) during West Virginia University’s third annual Day of Giving, topping last year’s $6.2 million raised.

West Virginia University alumni and friends are being encouraged to make a gift to the University on Wednesday, Nov. 13, as part of the third annual WVU Day of Giving.

The West Virginia Health Science and Technology Academy is one avenue that has proven highly effective over its 25 years of operation. The mentorship program reaches out to high school students from backgrounds underrepresented in college—across the state—and encourages them to pursue STEM and health science degrees.

After three days and 50 hours, Infinity Processing and Flux Iron overcame a field of 30 students in six teams to win WV Forward’s inaugural Impact Challenge Weekend competition held at West Virginia University’s LaunchLab in Evansdale Crossing.

Continuing its emphasis on student success and retention, West Virginia University will hire an associate provost to lead those efforts and more across the entire system, Vice Provost Paul Kreider announced today (May 22).

Tuition for Potomac State College for the upcoming academic year was cut $418 Tuesday as the West Virginia University Board of Governors adjusted the cost to open the way for in-state students to be eligible for free community college benefits adopted by the state Legislature.

Summer camp season at West Virginia University begins in May and offers many options for young people to engage both academically and physically during their summer break. Summer camps are known for providing a safe environment where children gain self-confidence as they learn new skills.
