West Virginia University, including WVU Institute of Technology, Potomac State College, Extension offices and WVU Research Corp., will close Friday (July 5) following a declaration issued by Gov. Jim Justice proclaiming a state holiday.
This extends the Thursday (July 4) federal holiday recognizing Independence Day when the University was already scheduled to be closed.
While classes (undergraduate and graduate) will be canceled on July 5, some essential campus services will remain open. Some employees will be contacted by their supervisor with additional information regarding a holiday work schedule to support ongoing campus services. Employees with questions or concerns should contact their supervisor.
WVU Health Sciences faculty, staff and students who are working in patient care areas or in clinical rotations should check with their dean, program director or clinic manager.
The University will reopen on a normal operating schedule Saturday (July 6).
