West Virginia University classes are canceled beginning at 2 p.m. today (Feb. 7) due to deteriorating and potentially hazardous weather conditions in the Morgantown area.

The planned Celebration of Mountaineer Values for employees at 5 p.m. at the Erickson Alumni Center is being postponed.

Though classes are canceled, the University will continue to operate as normal.

The WVU Libraries, Dining Services and Student Recreation Center will remain open, and the PRT will continue normal operations.

If weather conditions prevent employees from working as scheduled, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible. Any questions about scheduling issues should be addressed to an employee’s supervisor.

Both students and employees are reminded to use their own good judgment before venturing out.

All classes and activities are expected to resume Thursday (Feb. 8), unless weather conditions dictate otherwise.

Students, faculty and staff should monitor University web sites and social media accounts for updates.
