WVU plans Friday bell-ringing ceremony

West Virginia University will hold a bell-ringing ceremony, coordinated by the Office Campus and Community Life and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, on Friday (March 17) in remembrance of students Rebecca Williams, Arthur Bagenda and Calvin Dworshak.

Williams, 49, a multidisciplinary studies major from Morgantown died on October 4, 2016; Bagenda, 19, a pre-communications studies major from Bethesda, Maryland, died on January 28; and Dworshak, 20, a forest resources management major from Silver Springs, Maryland, died on March 6.

The service will begin around noon at Oglebay Plaza on WVU’s downtown campus, and those interested in attending are asked to be there at least 15 minutes beforehand. Family, friends and members of the University community are welcome to attend Friday’s ceremony.
