West Virginia University’s Personal Rapid Transit will resume normal operations Monday (Dec. 5).

Hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. Monday to Friday. All stations, including Walnut, will be available for service according to WVU Transportation and Parking.

Two PRT cars were involved in a minor collision between the Beechurst and Walnut stations late Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 30). As a result, service between the Beechurst and Walnut PRT stations was suspended while the remainder of the system operated on a normal schedule.

The entire PRT system was shut down Friday evening (Dec. 2) due to unforeseen operational issues.

“Over the last few days, a number of system checks and tests performed confirms that the PRT system is reliable and safe for passenger service,” said Clement Soloman, director of Transportation and Parking.
