WVU FallFest media credential and event guideline details released

WHAT: FallFest, the free concert for West Virginia University students during Welcome Week, will feature performances from Flo Rida, The Driver Era and Chayce Beckham.

WHEN: Tuesday (Aug. 15)

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Performances begin at 6 p.m. and are expected to end by 10 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine.

WHERE: Evansdale Fields adjacent to the Student Rec Center

The clear bag policy will be enforced and students must swipe valid WVU student IDs to enter the gates. Student IDs serve as tickets. Each student is permitted one guest, 17 and older. Guests should be prepared to show proof of age.

(Editor’s note: Flo Rida was announced as a FallFest performer on Saturday (Aug. 12) after Coi Leray canceled her scheduled appearance due to an injury.)

CREDENTIALS/MEDIA CHECK-IN: Members of the media who would like to take photos and/or video of the artists on stage must submit requests for credentials.

Credential requests should be sent via email by 5 p.m. today (Aug. 14) to the following contact:

Media check-in will be located at Gate C — Rec Center Drive, between the Student Rec Center and the Applied Human Sciences Building.

PARKING: Free parking will be available beginning at 4 p.m. in WVU Short Term Lot ST9 across from the Art Museum and in WVU Short Term Lot ST1 off Patteson Drive.

ROAD CLOSURE: Rec Center Drive will be closed on Tuesday (Aug. 15) starting at noon until 12 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 16).
