WVU to host Energy, Environment and Excitement Camp for underrepresented students

The 2023 Energy, Environment and Excitement Camp is underway this week (July 16-22) with events planned for the WVU Morgantown Campus, the WVU Outdoor Education Center and Mason Dixon Historical Park. Events like this tour of an Equitrans Midstream drilling site are offered to foster student interest in the energy industry.

WHAT: West Virginia University will host the 2023 Energy, Environment and Excitement Camp, fostering student interest and promoting inclusivity in the energy industry. 

WHO: Faculty members from the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design Energy Land Management program, experts in the energy industry, and eighth, ninth and 10th grade student attendees 

WHEN: July 16-22

WHERE: Multiple locations in Morgantown

Monday, July 17, through Saturday, July 20
WVU Morgantown Campus, Percival Hall, Room 308
     · 9-11 a.m. Campers will learn about Geographic Information Systems and business practices.

Thursday, July 20
WVU Outdoor Education Center, 1397 Chestnut Ridge Road, Bruceton Mills
     · 2-4 p.m. Campers will participate in low ropes and high ropes courses.

Mason Dixon Historical Park, 79 Buckeye Rd, Core
     · 6:30-7:30 p.m. Drone demonstration

Friday, July 21
WVU Morgantown Campus, Bennett Tower, Room G8
     · 6-8 p.m. Campers will present final group projects.
