WHO: West Virginia’s community leaders from municipal, nonprofit and state sectors

WHAT: Community Leadership Academy, an annual three-day conference that will provide education, motivation and a chance to network with other leaders across an array of industries for emerging and developing leaders in West Virginia.

WHEN: Wednesday (May 1) – 12:30 to 7:30 p.m.

  • Thursday (May 2) – 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday (May 3) – 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: Morgantown Event Center, Morgantown Marriott, Waterfront Place

WHY: The West Virginia University Extension Service Community Leadership Academy boasts a comprehensive experience for community leaders by providing education, motivation and a chance to build networks with other leaders from various disciplines.

This year, the focus will have a strong focus on emerging leaders, including a young entrepreneurs’ panel and a session on retaining young talent.

Thursday, May 2, 9 a.m., David C. Hardesty, Jr., WVU president emeritus, will share his leadership experiences and tips with attendees as the keynote address. Organizers and attendees will be available for interviews throughout the day.
