Statler College to host Lane Department Capstone Expo

WHAT: The Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering in West Virginia University’s Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will host its annual Senior Capstone Expo. The expo will feature projects centering around the theme of aging in place.

WHEN: Friday (April 26) noon to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Advanced Engineering Research Building, 1220 Evansdale Drive, Morgantown

NOTES: Enabling people of all abilities to stay at home through their advanced years can not only improve their quality of living but can result in a significant reduction in social costs. The main goal of this initiative is to explore how the vast array of advances in technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, natural language understanding, internet of things, deep learning, biometrics and sensor fusion can be exploited to mitigate the challenges faced by the aging community.

The expo is free and open to the public. Students will be on hand to give demonstrations and answer questions related to their projects.
