U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna's Jan. 22 visit to WVU Tech canceled

The event scheduled for January 22, 2018 at WVU Tech with Congressman Ro Khanna has been postponed due to a conflict with the Congressman’s schedule. A new date for the event has not yet been determined, but will be shared when details are finalized.

Where: WVU Tech, Beckley, West Virginia

What: U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna, of California’s 17th Congressional District, will meet with WVU Tech and WVU representatives on campus this Monday to discuss STEM education and industry in West Virginia.

The congressman will be visiting alongside representatives from high-tech manufacturing, healthcare, information technology and data analysis companies to discuss how the WVU system is encouraging the growth of STEM fields in the state.

With a strong background in entrepreneurship and innovation, Congressman Khanna and industry visitors will share ideas for how to strengthen and expand the pipeline of STEM professionals in West Virginia to ensure a platform for growth in these important and economy-boosting industries.

The visiting group will participate in a roundtable discussion on moving West Virginia Forward, tour campus and meet with current students.

WVU leadership will be on campus for the visit, and local media will have an opportunity to speak with visitors and administration during the roundtable session and the campus tour wrap-up discussion.
