Street, Jones elected WVU Student Government Association leaders

The campaign for West Virginia University student body president and vice president ended Thursday (March 13) as the Student Government Association Judicial Court certified Colin Street and Rozaireo Jones as president and vice president, respectively, for the 2025-26 academic year.

WVU 2025 Academy of Distinguished Alumni honorees announced

Five distinguished West Virginia University graduates, whose accomplishments span communications, business, leadership, music and nursing, will be inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni during a Feb. 7 ceremony at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown.

WVU taps Kreider to serve as interim provost as Reed prepares to retire

After three decades of service to West Virginia University, Maryanne Reed has chosen to retire from her role as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the end of September. She will continue to offer her leadership and expertise through the end of the calendar year when she retires from the University. Current Vice Provost Paul Kreider will step into an interim provost role effective Oct. 1, 2024, while also continuing to lead WVU Potomac State College until a new permanent campus president is in place.

WVU BOG announces Presidential Search Committee, approves FY25 financial plan

The West Virginia University Board of Governors endorsed a slate of 21 nominated individuals on Friday (June 21) to serve on the committee to select the University’s next president. A new president will come to WVU at a time of improving financial stability. The University has closed a projected structural budget shortfall and increased its cash on hand over the last year.

WVU to induct six into Order of Vandalia

For their loyalty and service to West Virginia University, six Mountaineers will be inducted into the Order of Vandalia during a Friday (June 7) ceremony. The 2024 inductees are Patricia Bibbee, Sue Day-Perroots, Mike Fulton, Ranjit K. Majumder, Robert Orders and Sophia Peterson.
