Former West Virginia University football coach and Hall of Famer Don Nehlen and former Virginia Tech football coach and almost assuredly soon to be Hall of Famer Frank Beamer, will serve as honorary captains when West Virginia and Virginia Tech renew their rivalry for the Black Diamond Trophy at FedExField on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m., televised on ABC.
What Mountaineer fans appreciated on the east side of Milan Puskar Stadium last year will now be enjoyed on the west side, starting with West Virginia’s season opener game against East Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 9.

As part of its partnership with WVU and IMG College, West Virginia Illustrated is set to kick off the 2017 season by airing its "Mountaineer GameDay - The Fall Football Special” this weekend. The special will first air on Friday (Aug. 11) at 5 p.m. on AT&T Sports Network, Saturday (Aug. 12) at 11 a.m. and Aug. 16, at 12:30 p.m., prior to the Pirates-Brewers pregame show.
