Football Coach Dana Holgorsen has announced that senior running back Justin Crawford has decided not to participate in the 2017 Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl and will focus on his preparation for the 2018 NFL Draft.

Junior quarterback Will Grier has announced that he will return for his senior season in 2018. Grier, who will graduate today (Dec. 15) with a degree in multidisciplinary studies, was the 2017 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year as selected by the league coaches, ESPN.com and the Associated Press.

The West Virginia University Mountaineer football team is headed to the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl on Dec. 26 in a match-up against Utah. Fans making the trip to Dallas are welcome to a host of events sponsored by the WVU Alumni Association, WVU Athletics and the Mountaineer Athletic Club.

Tickets for West Virginia's appearance in the 2017 Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the Historic Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas, are now on sale on a priority basis.

The West Virginia Mountaineers and Utah Utes have officially accepted invitations to play in the 2017 Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl. The game will be played Tuesday, Dec. 26 at Cotton Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. ET and the contest will be televised by ESPN.

Notching its second sweep in two days, the volleyball team downed Temple in the second round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship on Wednesday evening at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown. The Mountaineers will host the third round of the NIVC Tournament on Monday (Dec. 4) at 6 p.m. inside the WVU Coliseum.

West Virginia University women's basketball coach Mike Carey was honored in his hometown of Clarksburg on Tuesday afternoon. Mayor Catherine Goings unveiled a sign dedicated to Carey on behalf of the city during a ceremony at Jackson Square. The sign will be permanently displayed on the Hewes Ave parking structure above U.S. Route 50.

The West Virginia University volleyball team advanced to the second round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 win over Maryland Eastern Shore Tuesday evening inside the WVU Coliseum. West Virginia will face Temple on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum.

The volleyball team will make its first appearance in the postseason since 1991 after earning an automatic bid to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. The Mountaineers play host to Maryland Eastern Shore in the second of two matches on Tuesday (Nov. 28), with first serve set for 7 p.m. ET inside the WVU Coliseum.

West Virginia came back from 16 points down in the second half to knock off Missouri, 83-79, in the championship game of the AdvoCare Invitational played at HP Field House Sunday night (Nov. 26) in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
