Hall of Fame set for Saturday

The University will hold its 27th annual Sports Hall of Fame induction on Saturday (Sept. 16) prior to the WVU-Delaware State football game. Induction ceremonies will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility. The public is invited to attend and the event is free of charge.

U.S.-Cuba baseball diplomacy to be discussed at the WVU College of Law

International relations scholar Daniel Añorve Añorve will deliver the annual Archibald McDougall Lecture on International Law on September 5 at 12:30 p.m. in the Event Hall at the West Virginia University College of Law. Añorve will discuss “The Role of Baseball Diplomacy in U.S.-Cuban Relations.” He is a professor of law, policy and government at the University of Guanajuato in Mexico.

Decorated WVU/VT former coaches to serve as honorary captains for Black Diamond Trophy Game

Former West Virginia University football coach and Hall of Famer Don Nehlen and former Virginia Tech football coach and almost assuredly soon to be Hall of Famer Frank Beamer, will serve as honorary captains when West Virginia and Virginia Tech renew their rivalry for the Black Diamond Trophy at FedExField on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m., televised on ABC.
