In a letter to West Virginia University faculty, students today (June 1), President Gordon Gee said "profound and far-reaching" cuts to federal support of medical and scientific research threaten efforts to build "a strong economy and sound future."
Anjali Halabe, a long-time financial administrator at West Virginia University, has been named associate vice president for finance, effective July 1. Halabe, currently assistant vice president for finance, replaces Dan Durbin, who accepted an appointment at the University of Louisville.
