WVU Day of Giving sets new records for dollars raised, gifts received

Supporters of West Virginia University donated a record $30.4 million Wednesday (March 20) during the University’s seventh Day of Giving. More than 8,500 gifts were made during the 24-hour online fundraising event held across the University system, also a new record. The $30.4 million figure tops 2023’s WVU Day of Giving record of $18.1 million raised from more than 8,200 gifts.

Four WVU faculty members honored with prestigious NSF CAREER awards

WVU BOG takes initial steps in University presidential search process

The West Virginia University Board of Governors is beginning to establish the process that will be followed for the hiring of the next University president. During a special meeting Monday (March 18), the Board approved a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for BOG Governance Rule 1.3 — Presidential Selection, Contracts and Evaluation. The new Rule outlines the guiding principles for presidential selection, employment and evaluation.

WVU plans bell-ringing ceremony to remember students

West Virginia University will hold a bell-ringing ceremony, coordinated by the Office of Campus and Community Life and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, Friday (March 22) in remembrance of Edward Frisk, Jay Graham, Carly Grozier and Darrin Lester.

WVU Baseball facility renamed Kendrick Family Ballpark

The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, in conjunction with the WVU Foundation, has announced a generous gift from Ken Kendrick, Arizona Diamondbacks owner and WVU alumnus, to support the WVU Baseball program. The gift includes the renaming of Monongalia County Ballpark. The facility now will be known as Kendrick Family Ballpark at the Monongalia County Baseball Complex.

Long, Browning elected WVU Student Government Association leaders

Charlie Long, a junior political science and philosophy dual major and member of the Honors College from Charleston, and Abigail Browning, a junior psychology major from Hurricane, will serve as West Virginia University student body president and vice president, respectively, for the 2024-25 academic year.
