The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced the matchups for the annual Hall of Fame Holiday Showcase presented by Citi on Sunday, December 16 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Gee urges WVU Class of 2018 to make choices that serve their purpose in life

This class of more than 4,450 is likely a generation prepared for enacting “vital change,” having earned a University record 10 Fulbright Scholarships, two Boren Scholarships, an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and a Truman Scholarship. Donation from WVU alumni Dan and Betsy Brown to benefit Formula SAE team

The latest gift from longtime West Virginia University supporters Dan and Betsy Brown will help fund activities related to the WVU Formula SAE racing team in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. The significant donation will be used by the WVU Formula SAE team in preparation for 2019 competition.

Brown hired as strength coach for men’s basketball

Shaun Brown has been named the strength and conditioning coach for WVU men's basketball and brings 30 years of experience to Mountaineer basketball. Brown comes to West Virginia from Minnesota, where he served as the strength and conditioning coach for the Minnesota men's basketball team for the past five years.

WVU commencement ceremonies celebrate accomplishments of graduates, alumni, West Virginia natives

Renowned West Virginia novelist Ann Pancake leads the list of honorary degree recipients when West Virginia University sends more than 4,450 graduates into the world the weekend of May 11-13 as commencement ceremonies take place in three venues for 13 colleges and schools. Of those graduates, 3,009 have earned their undergraduate degrees or certificates, 1,110 their master’s degrees and 360 have earned their doctorates.

WVU's Grier one of a few returning Big 12 QBs

There are going to be a lot of new quarterbacks in the Big 12 this year. Baker Mayfield is gone at Oklahoma. Mason Rudolph is no longer at Oklahoma State, nor is Kenny Hill at TCU. Nik Shimonek's eligibility has expired at Texas Tech. But here at West Virginia, that's not the case with Will Grier returning for his senior season. That alone should automatically put the Mountaineers in the catbird's seat.

Lyons names Flynn WVU’s ninth wrestling coach

Director of Athletics and Associate Vice President Shane Lyons has named Tim Flynn as the school's ninth wrestling coach. Flynn comes to West Virginia from Edinboro, where he spent the past 21 years building the Fighting Scots into a wrestling powerhouse. He compiled a 223-95-5 career record at Edinboro to become the school's all-time winningest coach and a member of its Hall of Fame.

Holgorsen walks to benefit WVU Medicine Children’s

The frigid weather and snowy conditions didn't stop hundreds of local residents from coming out and supporting the new Family Resource Center at WVU Medicine Children's as part of the April 7 "Walk the Talk With Coach Dana Holgorsen."
