Supporters of West Virginia University donated more than $6 million Wednesday (Nov. 14) during the University’s second annual Day of Giving, more than doubling last year’s total. It was promoted as “One Day to Give Back” and donors responded making 3,001 gifts during the 24-hour online giving event totaling over $6.2 million.
The No. 8-ranked and second-seeded women's soccer team will play host to second- and third-round matches in the 2018 NCAA Tournament Thursday and Sunday (Nov. 16 and 18) at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The Mountaineers will face Wake Forest in the second of two matches Friday night, with kick set at 6 p.m.

West Virginia University Police is investigating an incident at Milan Puskar Stadium during tonight’s (Oct. 25) game against Baylor. Witnesses told officers 49-year-old Robert McIntyre, Jr. from Mineral Wells, scaled and then intentionally jumped over the wall of the South Concourse area following a series of verbal altercations with those seated nearby. He fell onto the concrete concourse below. Contemporary Services Corporation Event Staff, University Police, State Police and emergency crews responded immediately and he was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. University Police is continuing its investigation.

Six home dates, two Power 5 nonconference games and five Big 12 Conference road dates comprise the upcoming schedule. The season is spread over 15 weeks with open dates on Sept. 28 and Oct. 26. It is the first schedule with two open weeks since 2016.
