Men's basketball to host Grand Canyon Wednesday

The WVU men's basketball team has accepted a bid to the Roman College Basketball Invitational (CBI). The Mountaineers will host Grand Canyon in a first-round game on Wednesday, March 20 at the WVU Coliseum. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.

Competing in the first-ever NCAA Championships final hosted by West Virginia University, the fourth-ranked Mountaineer rifle team finished second overall at the 2019 NCAA Rifle Championships with a two-day total of 4692, shot at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range inside the WVU Coliseum.

The campaign for West Virginia University student body president and vice president ended Wednesday evening (March 6) as the Student Government Association Judicial Board announced Kate Dye and Madison Matheny, as president and vice president, respectively, for the 2019-20 academic year.

Eads heard his name announced as the next Mountaineer tonight (Feb. 25) at the men’s basketball game vs. Texas Christian University.

Four finalists to compete Monday in Mountaineer Mascot Cheer-Off

The four finalists vying for the title to represent the student body as the 67th West Virginia University Mountaineer Mascot come from a variety of academic backgrounds and are involved in an array of extra-curricular activities. All West Virginia natives, they will compete wearing buckskins and carrying the rifle in a cheer-off held during the men’s basketball game vs. Kansas State at 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in the WVU Coliseum.

WVU board approves new policies governing ethics, identity theft and tobacco

The West Virginia University Board of Governors today (Feb. 8) gave final approval to a trio of updated policies, and also sent out for comment the latest updated rule as it works to complete policy revisions in the wake of the adoption of laws permitting more independence from the state Higher Education Policy Commission. The three rules, unanimously approved, deal with conflicts of interest, outside consulting and ethics; identify theft detection and prevention; and a tobacco-free campus.

2019 annual Blue-Gold Spring Game set

It's the start of a new era for West Virginia University football, and fans will get their first chance to see the Mountaineers under coach Neal Brown at the annual Gold-Blue Spring Game, presented by U.S. Cellular on Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m., at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.
