Application period for WV Governor’s School of Entrepreneurship now open

Demonstrating the commitment to foster entrepreneurship in the state, West Virginia University announced earlier this year that the University had won a two-year bid to host the Governor’s School of Entrepreneurship in 2017 and 2018 after submitting a proposal to host the summer event for students entering their sophomore, junior and senior years of high school.

Author and environmental steward to offer this year’s Davis-Michael Distinguished Lecture

The West Virginia University Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design will welcome Larry Nielsen, professor of natural resources at North Carolina State University, as this year’s Davis-Michael Distinguished Lecturer. Nielsen will present “What do the great conservationists of the past and present have to say to us today” at 11 a.m. April, 4, in G06 Agricultural Sciences Building.

West Virginia Law Review Symposium to explore investigative technology

The West Virginia Law Review is hosting a symposium on March 31 to explore the impact of evolving technology on criminal investigations and law. Featuring national legal scholars and law enforcement experts, the symposium will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Marylyn E. Lugar Courtroom at the West Virginia University College of Law. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Humphrey, Smith elected WVU Student Government Association leaders

The campaign for West Virginia University student body president and vice president ended Friday evening as the Student Government Association Judicial Board announced Blake Humphrey and Shannon Smith as president and vice president, respectively, for the 2017-18 academic year.

School of Medicine student wins Pat Fedeles Award for Compassion

The winner of the annual Patricia “Pat” Fedeles Award for Compassion in Physical Diagnosis was presented to Jeffrey Cannon on March 21, 2017. In it's eleventh year, this award is presented to the second-year medical student who portrays ongoing compassion, friendliness and an overall caring attitude toward patients, peers, faculty and staff.
