WVU business college launches campaign to bring new building to fruition

Beginning today (Sept. 9), the College kicks off its campaign, Building Beyond, which has to date raised more than $26 million of the $40 million needed in private support to ensure that WVU has a first-class facility for business education and research. The total project cost is estimated at $100 million.

West Virginia Business Hall of Fame to honor Chris Cline, new inductees

The West Virginia Business Hall of Fame will posthumously honor coal industry billionaire and philanthropist Chris Cline and three other state business leaders who have led widespread growth. The 2019 Hall of Fame class are Bill Bayless, chief executive officer of American Campus Communities Inc.; Judy K. Sheppard, chief executive officer of Professional Services of America, Inc.; and Leo A. Vecellio, Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Vecellio Group, Inc.

WVU Board of Governors OKs three major construction projects and financing

Citing the need to “improve the quality of student life, enrich academic experience, enhance student services, and respond to students’ needs,” the West Virginia University Board of Governors unanimously approved construction plans Wednesday for three major projects totaling $176 million.

Field House’s final days bring back flood of memories

Pretty soon, Stansbury Hall will cease to exist. Interior demolition work has begun on the 90-year-old facility that was once the home of West Virginia University basketball from 1929-70. In its place will be Reynolds Hall, the new home of the John Chambers College of Business and Economics.
