The legacy of Drs. John T. (Jack) and June Richie Chambers of Charleston will live on through a planned gift made by the late alumni to West Virginia University.

The five-county area comprising West Virginia’s Potomac Highlands could improve economically by embracing and promoting its regional identity, according to a new study by three West Virginia University centers.

Graduates were urged to tap into their inner wisdom and make decisions that align with their passions at West Virginia University’s commencement ceremonies Saturday (Dec. 21).

West Virginia University students who are tantalizingly close to completing their degrees, but are at the end of their financial resources, will receive a new benefit beginning next semester with the implementation of “completion grants” to help fill the gap between checkbooks and commencement.

Researchers from West Virginia University’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics are revving up a project that will explore road pavement quality and traffic safety, thanks to funding from the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Eighteen state colleges and universities will be represented in the 2019-2020 West Virginia Statewide Collegiate Business Plan Competition semifinals, with a total of 31 teams moving onto the next stage of the competition.

A barrier-breaking physician and a successful entrepreneur, both natives of West Virginia and graduates of West Virginia University, will provide real-life examples of success for graduates at the University’s December commencement.

West Virginia University ended the fiscal year with a strong financial performance, Paula Congelio, vice president of finance and chief financial officer, said Friday (Nov. 8).

The crew from Barnwood Builders, led by WVU alumnus Mark Bowe, visited WVU Jackson’s Mill to film an upcoming episode featuring students from the Northern Panhandle. The WVU Extension Service Ohio County 4-H’ers focused on working as a team, honed their critical thinking skills and used their know-how to solve problems.

The nomination process for the 2020 West Virginia Business Hall of Fame is open until Nov. 30. Sponsored annually by the West Virginia University John Chambers College of Business and Economics, the Business Hall of Fame kicks off the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Business Summit at The Greenbrier to honor and recognize those with strong West Virginia ties who have made a significant impact on the business landscape.
