West Virginia University Office of the Provost reconfigures WVU Online and Teaching and Learning Commons to ensure optimal services for students and faculty

The Office of the Provost announced today that the Teaching and Learning Commons will be realigning with WVU Online under the leadership of Dean Keith Bailey. As part of this move, Bailey will also be named the assistant provost for teaching and learning. Tracey Beckley, current executive director of the TLC, will become the assistant dean for teaching and learning. This expanded role will encompass online program planning as well as continued growth of services offered by the TLC.

WVU facilities master update features 16 projects under active consideration

With five years remaining on its current master facilities plan, West Virginia University has 16 projects that are active, or under consideration, across the system, ranging from a residence hall at WVU Tech in Beckley to better facilities at Jackson’s Mill to remodeling of space in Morgantown, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Rob Alsop said today (Jan. 24).

WVU music faculty nominated for Grammy

An album recorded and produced by West Virginia University faculty in the College of Creative Arts has received a nomination for a 2018 Grammy Award in the Best Classical Compendium category. Lucy Mauro, associate professor of piano, and Mark Benincosa, recording engineer and instructor of music technology, released “Mademoiselle – Première Audience” in March 2017.

College GameDay returns to Morgantown

ESPN's College GameDay Covered by State Farm is headed to Morgantown on Saturday (Jan. 27) for ahead of the Big 12/SEC Challenge matchup featuring No. 18 Kentucky and No. 6 West Virginia (7 p.m. ET, ESPN). The morning show will be live from the Coliseum, beginning at 11 a.m. on ESPN, followed by an evening edition leading into the game telecast.

Two selected in NWSL College Draft

For the first time in program history, two members of the women's soccer program were selected in the National Women's Soccer League College Draft, as Michaela Abam and Amandine Pierre-Louis were drafted with the No. 4 and No. 6 overall picks by Sky Blue FC.
