WVU research examines a different culprit behind Alzheimer's disease

Amyloid plaques have long been believed to be an indicator of neurodegenerative disease. But according to Raymond Anderson, a graduate student in West Virginia University's School of Medicine, such buildup alone does not correlate with disease severity. In fact, these buildups may even protect neurons.

West Virginia University Office of the Provost reconfigures WVU Online and Teaching and Learning Commons to ensure optimal services for students and faculty

The Office of the Provost announced today that the Teaching and Learning Commons will be realigning with WVU Online under the leadership of Dean Keith Bailey. As part of this move, Bailey will also be named the assistant provost for teaching and learning. Tracey Beckley, current executive director of the TLC, will become the assistant dean for teaching and learning. This expanded role will encompass online program planning as well as continued growth of services offered by the TLC.
