West Virginia University student musicians will debut at New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall in March.

Manchester Bidwell Corporation's president and chief operating officer Bill Strickland is this year's Deem Distinguished Lecture speaker. Strickland will speak about making the impossible possible at 5 p.m. March 2 in Bloch Learning and Performance Hall at the Creative Arts Center. Strickland helped redefine Pittsburgh after the steel industry declined.

The sound of music is, in its simplest form, the sound of fractions. Students in the West Virginia University School of Music showed Suncrest Elementary School fourth graders that correlation.

While West Virginia University remains financially stable, it faces future challenges with continued reductions in state revenue, limited ability and desire to increase tuition and competition from other institutions, the Board of Governors was told Friday (Feb. 10).
