WVU pauses all football activities

Due to a surge of positive Covid-19 cases and contact tracing within the football program, West Virginia University Director of Athletics Shane Lyons and WVU's medical officials have paused all football activities, including workouts and games, for the next seven days.

No spectators for December basketball games

The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, in conjunction with University, local and state officials, has determined that December men's and women's home basketball games will take place without spectators in the WVU Coliseum.

The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will welcome fans to the WVU Coliseum, beginning with the men's basketball home opener on Dec. 2 against Youngstown State and the women's basketball home opener on Dec. 3 against North Alabama.

Men's hoops Big 12 schedule announced

West Virginia will open Big 12 Conference play in December with two league games, starting with a home contest against Iowa State on Dec. 18 and a game at Kansas on Dec. 22. To start the 2021 calendar year, the Mountaineers will have a two-game trip to Oklahoma (Jan. 2) and to Oklahoma State (Jan. 4).

Backyard Brawl moved to 2023-24 season

The men's basketball game between West Virginia University and the University of Pittsburgh that was scheduled to take place this season in Morgantown has been rescheduled to the 2023-24 season.

Kansas game to be televised on FOX

The Big 12 Conference has announced that WVU's Saturday, Oct. 17 Big 12 Conference football game against Kansas now will be televised on FOX at noon ET. The game was originally slated to be aired on televised on FS1.
