WVU College of Law ranked sixth for public interest law

The West Virginia University College of Law is one of the best schools in the country for public interest law, according to preLaw Magazine. The publication ranks WVU Law sixth in the nation for preparing students to work in public interest law, a field of law that serves those in need, including the elderly, children and victims of domestic violence.

‘The engine of innovation is change,’ WVU’s December graduates told

The weather outside wasn’t quite frightful, but it was delightful inside the West Virginia University Coliseum Friday (Dec. 15) as the largest December graduating class in the University’s 150 years received diplomas amid cheers, shrill whistles and honking horns from their friends and families.

WVU gas utilization team to showcase technology and economic development efforts

West Virginia University, a leader in technology and economic development around gas utilization, today announced that WVU’s Center for Innovation in Gas Research and Utilization will showcase its achievements at an open house on Tues., Dec. 12, from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m., at the Erickson Alumni Center.

West Virginia Innocence Project receives $100,000

The law firm Wilson, Frame & Metheney, PLLC has made a $100,000 gift to the Innocence Project at the West Virginia University College of Law. The funds, paid over five years, will provide operational support for the West Virginia Innocence Project, a law clinic that serves the wrongfully convicted free of charge while providing work experience for student attorneys.

West Virginia Innocence Project client granted parole

Joseph Lavigne, a client of the West Virginia Innocence Project at the West Virginia University College of Law, has been granted parole. He was released from Huttonsville Correctional Center on November 15 after serving 20 years in prison.

WVU releases May 2018 Commencement Ceremony Information

West Virginia University’s May 2018 graduates will be honored during Commencement weekend, May 11-13. Graduates planning to participate in commencement exercises must register with their school or college during the Spring 2018 semester. Students and parents are encouraged to check the graduation website often in the months and weeks leading up to commencement weekend where information will be added as more details are confirmed.
