WVU launches text service to reinforce safe choices, curb binge drinking

Students at West Virginia University can now receive adaptive text messages encouraging them to make safer choices about alcohol use by questioning how likely they are to have more than four drinks at any single occasion, how they are prepared to handle peer pressure and if they are willing to set a goal to drink less.

NACDA names Lyons Athletics Director of the Year

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics has named West Virginia's Shane Lyons one of four winners of the 2021 Athletics Director of the Year Award. Fundraising effort seeks to honor late WVU neurosurgeon, football team physician

Dr. Mark Lee is building on the legacy Dr. G. Robert Nugent left behind following his 50-plus years at WVU. As chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery for the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, Lee hopes to continue growing the Department via an endowed chair position created in Nugent’s memory. An additional $300,000 in private support is needed to fully fund the endowment.
