WVU joins national effort to address campus sexual violence

A full assessment along with targeted organizational changes are the goals of a new two-year program at West Virginia University focused on improving the reporting of sexual violence on campus and, ultimately, preventing it.

Huggins family patriarch passes away

Charlie Huggins, the father of West Virginia University men's basketball coach Bob Huggins, has died. Charlie Huggins is a legendary name in Ohio prep basketball circles, the elder Huggins having coached three teams to Class A state championships in 1967, 1972 and 1976.

2021 Gold-Blue Spring Game tickets now on sale

After a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19, West Virginia University will hold its annual Gold-Blue Spring Football Game, presented by Encova, on Saturday, April 24, at 1 p.m., at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. A portion of the proceeds will once again benefit WVU Medicine Children's.

WVU launches text service to reinforce safe choices, curb binge drinking

Students at West Virginia University can now receive adaptive text messages encouraging them to make safer choices about alcohol use by questioning how likely they are to have more than four drinks at any single occasion, how they are prepared to handle peer pressure and if they are willing to set a goal to drink less.

NACDA names Lyons Athletics Director of the Year

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics has named West Virginia's Shane Lyons one of four winners of the 2021 Athletics Director of the Year Award. The Athletics Director of the Year Award highlights the efforts of athletics directors at all levels for their commitment and positive contributions to student-athletes, the campuses of their University and their surrounding communities.
