Putting a focus on homegrown talent, West Virginia University will welcome students to campus with FallFest featuring headliner Sierra Ferrell — a Mountain State singer-songwriter and roots musician — Monday (Aug. 18) at the Rec Center Fields on the Evansdale area of campus.
Designed to encourage both new and returning West Virginia University students to connect with each other, explore campus and give back to the community as they begin the fall semester, Welcome Week will include a variety of activities from Aug. 14-22.

FallFest has been welcoming students to West Virginia University for 28 years, a Welcome Week tradition that will continue during this year’s concert Tuesday (Aug. 20) at the Evansdale Fields with performances by Yung Gravy, Shaboozey and COIN. The free show is open to WVU students with valid student IDs.
Offering a mix of activities for all West Virginia University students — new and returning — Welcome Week will run from Aug. 15-23, providing ways for students to have fun, explore their strengths, connect with others and give back to the community ahead of the start of the fall semester.

For the first time since 2019, West Virginia University’s free welcome-back-to-campus concert for students returns Tuesday, Aug. 16. The concert starts at 5:45 p.m. on the Evansdale Rec Fields adjacent to the Student Rec Center. Gates open at 5 p.m.
