Poore defines vision for diversity, equity and inclusion at WVU

Encova Insurance Group makes first corporate gift for WVU’s Reynolds Hall

West Virginia University’s Brickstreet Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation will become the Encova Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation thanks to a generous donation from the Encova Mutual Insurance Group. The gift, which is for $2 million, is the first corporate gift made in the Building Beyond campaign, which officially launched Monday, and will provide a new home for the Encova Center within Reynolds Hall.

Limiting sugary drinks and insisting on regular toothbrushing can prevent tooth decay in kids. Maybe providing their mothers with social support can, too. A study by Daniel McNeil, a WVU School of Dentistry researcher, suggests children may be less likely to have a lot of cavities if their mothers have someone to talk to about their problems.

Thrasher makes top 30 in NCAA Woman of the Year field

Former rifle standout Ginny Thrasher has been selected as one of the top-30 nominees for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. The Springfield, Virginia, native is the first WVU student-athlete to be selected as a top-30 honoree since the award's inception in 1991. She also is the first rifle athlete to land on the prestigious list.
