WVU names 2020 class of Ruby Fellows

Three students pursuing doctoral degrees at West Virginia University are receiving funding through the Ruby Scholars Graduate Fellows Program. Jared Beard, Evan Cramer and Kinsey Reed are this year’s Ruby Fellows.

Brown believes football can be safely played in the fall

Neal Brown was happy to finally be back out on the football field with his guys on Monday doing what he loves to do most – coach football. Brown, for one, is advocating that college football be played this fall. He believes it can be done safely and effectively.

WVU provides COVID-19 weekly ‘trends’ report

A week after launching its public dashboard to track and compile COVID-19 information collected during testing across the West Virginia University System, a total of 67 positive results have been recorded out of 11,604 tests resulted between July 21-Aug. 9. Those positive test results include 63 students and 4 faculty/staff.

Glover to serve as Mountaineer mascot through 2021-22

The Mountaineer Advisory Council announced today (Aug. 10) that Colson Glover and Brooke Ashby, will serve as the West Virginia University Mountaineer mascot and alternate Mascot, respectively, through 2021-22, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mountaineer gridders begin practice

The most unusual season in 129 years of West Virginia University football begins Monday morning (Aug. 10) when Neal Brown's Mountaineers officially begin practice. Since March when the COVID-19 virus shut down NCAA sports, nothing has been usual, nor will it be anytime soon.
