WVU extends several deadlines due to FAFSA delays

West Virginia University is extending multiple key deadlines for current and incoming students following delays at the federal level for the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA.

Finalists to compete in WVU Mountaineer mascot cheer-off event

Four West Virginia natives vying to be the 70th West Virginia University Mountaineer mascot will wear buckskins and carry rifles as they compete in a cheer-off during the men’s basketball game versus the University of Central Florida at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 20) in the WVU Coliseum.

Blakemore to be honored with street dedication

Legendary West Virginia University women's basketball coach Kittie Blakemore will have a street on the Evansdale Campus named in her honor when the University dedicates Kittie Blakemore Drive Feb. 24 before the women's basketball game against Baylor. Previously known as Rec Center Drive, the street begins at Morrill Way and ends at the Student Rec Center.

Eight WVU graduate students receive Foundation scholarships to support research

The selected West Virginia University graduate students from across the U.S. and beyond are engaging in meaningful research as they complete their degrees with support from WVU Foundation scholarships. The awards help students defray costs and support the completion of their theses or dissertations.
