West Virginia University announced today (Wednesday, Aug. 25) in a Community Notice that the George R. Farmer, Jr. Law Library at the WVU College of Law has temporarily closed after the University was notified of a COVID-19 exposure at the location.

The library plans to reopen and resume normal operating hours on Thursday (Aug. 26).

After learning of the COVID-19 exposure, WVU immediately implemented CDC safety protocols, initiating a deep cleaning of the space.

The University also is working closely with the Monongalia County Health Department in its case investigation and contact tracing.

As a result of enhanced health and safety precautions on campus, potential exposure in this environment likely is minimal. However, anyone who visited the library is encouraged to self-monitor for symptoms.

Students and employees can learn more about how to respond to potential COVID-19 exposure at the What to Do If ... page of the Return to Campus website.
