West Virginia University faculty and staff can invest in the University through the WVU Foundation’s Gold Blue & You Campus Campaign which kicks off today (April 8).
Through the Campus Campaign, WVU employees can give to programs or funds across the University they feel passionately about, including scholarship funds, specific departments/units, academic programs and special faculty/student support initiatives.
During the 2018 Campaign, 1,824 WVU employees gave nearly $2 million. These gifts supported education, research, faculty, staff and student experiences.
“Donating to the University is a great way for faculty and staff to support their favorite WVU projects and programs,” said Mary Esposito, WVU Foundation associate director of annual giving. “Our faculty and staff support our students every day, and when they give a gift to WVU, it helps enhance the WVU experience for all Mountaineers.”
Juliane Russell, assistant director of annual giving with the WVU Health Sciences Office of Philanthropy, added, “One thing we all have in common is that every day through our work we see the ever-growing needs of our campus, departments, programs and community. The Gold Blue & You Campaign is an opportunity for all employees across WVU, WVU Medicine and the WVU Foundation to come together and through annual philanthropic gifts, support the future of education and health care in West Virginia.”
Information tables to help kick off this year’s Gold Blue & You Campaign will be staffed Tuesday (April 9) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Health Sciences Center Market and the Mountainlair. Employees can pick up an informational brochure, a flying WV cookie and a Campaign button. Students will have an opportunity to honor a faculty or staff member.
Donations to the Gold Blue & You Campaign can be made through payroll deduction for as little as $3 per paycheck, per fund designation. Contributions may also be made by phone at 304.284.4000 or online at www.goldblueandyou.com Descriptions of funds and more information on giving can also be found at the Campaign website.
