Berhanu family creates civil engineering endowment at WVU

Members of Leah Berhanu’s family were looking for a way to honor her legacy of lending a helping hand to those who needed it. They chose to create the Leah Berhanu Financial Rescue Scholarship at West Virginia University, her alma mater.

Times set for NCAA tournament matches

The No. 8-ranked and second-seeded women's soccer team will play host to second- and third-round matches in the 2018 NCAA Tournament Thursday and Sunday (Nov. 16 and 18) at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The Mountaineers will face Wake Forest in the second of two matches Friday night, with kick set at 6 p.m.

Wood named WVU Energy Institute interim director as Anderson moves to NETL

James F. Wood has been appointed interim director of the West Virginia University Energy Institute, replacing Brian Anderson, named Friday (Nov. 9) to lead the National Energy Technology Laboratory, the only federally-operated National Laboratory in the Department of Energy system.

Tonight’s WVU Festival of Ideas event canceled

Tonight’s (Nov. 8) David C. Hardesty Jr. Festival of Ideas event at West Virginia University has been canceled due to an unforeseen travel schedule conflict for the speaker. The program, “HATE: Why We Should Resist It With Free Speech, Not Censorship,” was originally scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms. It will be rescheduled for a later date to be determined.

WVU Women’s Business Center hires new director

Vicki Greene has been appointed director of the West Virginia University Women’s Business Center, to assist entrepreneurs across the state in all stages of business development, with a special focus on women-owned and managed businesses.
