Countdown to code camp: WVU Extension 4-H program to host innovative camp to help students learn about computer science

West Virginia youths will get a chance to tap into the technological future as part of Google’s “4-H Computer Science Career Pathway” program. Last year Google awarded $1.5 million to 4-H programs in 22 states, including West Virginia, to help young people learn more about this exciting field. WVU Extension Service is using the grant to host its first 4-H Code Camp at WVU Jackson’s Mill Feb. 23-25 to help area youths get a head start in learning these critical skills.

Financial services pioneer, best-selling author and B&E alumnus to headline 2018 Distinguished Speaker Series Jan. 19

Robert L. Reynolds, president and CEO of Great-West Financial and Putnam Investments, will add best-selling author to his credentials when he returns to his alma mater later this month. Reynolds is author of the USA Today Bestseller From Here to Security: How Workplace Savings Can Keep America’s Promise returns to West Virginia University on Jan. 19 to talk about the future of investments and retirement in the United States as part of the 2018 B&E Distinguished Speaker Series.

WVU men's basketball climbs to No. 2 in AP Poll

Coach Bob Huggins' Mountaineers jumped four spots from No. 6 last week to No. 2 this week in the latest Associated Press Top 25 rankings, revealed earlier today (Jan. 8). It's the highest ranking for West Virginia since Dec. 29, 1959 - Jerry West's senior season.
